Name one authoritative source
Assign a clear source identifier and revision date. Use consistent file names and record which files are current, reference-only or superseded. Keep an inventory of the source documents and their target languages so that the relationship remains visible after files are shared or renamed.
Describe changes as a defined package
When a source is updated, provide the new file and a comparison or change list. Identify affected passages, drawings, terms and related files. Confirm whether the change applies to every target language. Discuss any effect on scope and timing before the revised material enters the workflow.
Close with a delivery inventory
At handover, list each target file, language, source revision and delivery date. Keep review comments separate from approved final files, and record any open issues. Use the same reference when checking later corrections so that a small update does not accidentally revive an older version.
