Start with the material and its purpose
Language, IP and overseas-fee projects can involve different kinds of confidential or personal information. Describe the purpose and sensitivity of the work before exchanging the working records. The initial website form is for an outline; it has no document upload or payment function.
Third-party AI, translation and cloud tools
Customer project material may be processed with third-party AI, machine translation or cloud collaboration tools only with the customer’s prior consent and a separate discussion of the arrangement. Sending an enquiry, choosing a language or using the website does not itself provide that consent. Tell MML about any restrictions before sharing the files.
What to clarify for a project
Before exchanging working material, clarify the files involved, the permitted purpose, any proposed tools or recipients, the delivery channel and the people responsible for decisions. Where relevant, discuss confidentiality requirements, storage location, access, retention and deletion. This page does not prescribe one tool, retention period or technical arrangement for every project.
Language and IP documents
Identify one working source set, distinguish reference-only files and record which revision replaces an earlier file. Keep technical questions and approved wording tied to the relevant material. Source-version and review records help explain the work; the illustrative records on this site do not contain customer files or demonstrate a live processing system.
Overseas fees and payment information
Leave bank account details, payment instructions and confidential evidence out of the initial website enquiry. Confirm the appropriate contact and exchange process separately. A fee notice, payment instruction, processing record and recipient acknowledgement establish different things; records should identify what is available and what still needs confirmation.
Raise a concern with context
Use the privacy and data contact below if you believe information may have been shared incorrectly or an unexpected request has been made in connection with an MML project. Include the project or message reference and a short description first. Avoid forwarding unnecessary sensitive documents or credentials in the initial report.
